RoadBlock gives you the ability to improve blocking success by checking at the Tag: level. Some unsolicted email comes to you missing certain required fields. Bulk Emailers know that filtering software exists, and most of depends on the scanning for certain patterns in those fields. That method breaks down when the Tag: doesn't exist. RoadBlock can detect this condition and use that information against the Bulk Emailers!

For example, some Tags: you want to make sure exist! The From: tag is a prime example of just such a tag. In this case, any email that flows through RoadBlock that is missing a From: tag is blocked.

Other times, there are certain tags that are "tell tale signs" of an unsolicted email. X-Advertisement, X-Remove, X-1, X-2 are the sorts of finger prints Bulk Emailers leave in their messages. RoadBlock can optionally block messages that have these tags just on their existence, without having to try and match a specific criteria!

Lets take a closer look at the From: rule, specifically the Block if match rule.
